FSSC 22000 templates and records

Eight records required by the additional requirements of FSSC 22000 Version 7, which is what the scheme asks for over and above ISO 22000. Those of the base standard — hazard control plan, validation, verification, traceability — have their own sheets in the ISO 22000 templates.

In one sentence

FSSC 22000 is certified on the basis of ISO 22000, a sector prerequisite programme and its own additional requirements, and it is the latter that add specific records: the food defense plan, the food fraud vulnerability assessment, the allergen management plan, environmental monitoring, food safety culture objectives, quality control with line clearance, the equipment purchase specification and the food loss and waste plan.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us before getting started

What records does FSSC 22000 add to ISO 22000?

Those arising from the scheme's additional requirements: food defense plan, food fraud vulnerability assessment, allergen management, environmental monitoring, food safety culture, quality control, PRP verification, equipment management and food loss and waste, among others.

What changes in these records with Version 7?

The numbering stays the same. Food defense and food fraud now rest on clauses 16.2 and 16.3 of ISO 22002-100:2025, with the scheme adding requirements on the competence of whoever prepares them; food safety culture calls for sufficient resources and a demonstrable commitment from all personnel, and food loss and waste for measurable targets with timelines. The former 2.5.14 on health status in feed production is gone, and that number now covers traceability in slaughtering.

What is an OPRP?

An operational prerequisite programme: a control measure for a significant hazard that is not a CCP, with a measurable or observable action criterion rather than a critical limit. ISO 22000 requires you to decide for each hazard whether it is controlled by a CCP or an OPRP.

Where are the HACCP plan, traceability and supplier evaluation?

They are requirements of ISO 22000, the scheme's base standard, and are explained in the ISO 22000 templates. Only the records FSSC adds are here; each sheet links to the base standard or BRCGS template that deals with the same topic from another angle.
